Outpost is pleased to be partnering with AMP Concerts once again to present this special CD Release concert. Last heard at Outpost in fall of 2021, just prior to her release, Songs from the River Wind, Taos, NM based singer-songwriter, Eliza Gilkyson returns, post pandemic, with her new album, Home. Twice nominated for a Grammy award (2006/2015) Gilkyson is one of the most respected musicians and activists in Folk, Roots and Americana circles. Her songs have been covered by Joan Baez, Bob Geldof, Tom Rush, and Rosanne Cash, and have appeared in films, PBS specials, and on prime-time network TV shows. A member of the Austin Music Hall of Fame, and an inductee into the Austin Songwriter Hall of Fame, she has won countless Folk Alliance and Austin Music Awards, including 2014’s Songwriter of the Year. On stage, Gilkyson presents a vibrant spontaneous mix of storytelling with self-effacing humor and tenderness, within a wide-ranging spectrum of human experience, from intimate love songs to political diatribe, accompanied by some of the best players in the world. For this show, she will accompanied by award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Don Richmond, a founding member of the bands like Tumbleweed and Hired Hands. Richmond currently performs with the Rifters, a New Mexico-based Southwestern Americana band and as the owner of Howlin’ Dog Recording, he is a partner in Howlin’ Dog Records and has recorded and produced or co-produced hundreds of albums for local, regional, and national artists.
