Harsh social criticism drenched in noise rock and crushing sludge metal

Somewhere between crushing noise rock, sludge metal, southern gothic and general human decay, Chat Pile’s music is a confrontation with some of the darkest dimensions of existence.

The Oklahoma band’s debut album, “God’s Country” from 2022, has an opening song and lead single aptly named “Slaughterhouse”. And hearing Chat Pile’s music is indeed like being dragged to the slaughterhouse, a bloody and merciless experience. The band has referred to Nick Cave’s “Murder Ballads” as narrative inspiration for the record’s bloody tales. The content is taken from the raw reality of a country that calls itself God’s own country, but which, according to the band, is rather a nation that dances around the golden calf, while human life is sacrificed in the meat grinder of capitalism.

The event is finished.
